High availability for big data in Nigeria will still be a myth given the current state of our IT infrastructure. With Amazon launching its first region in Africa, Capetown South Africa to be precise, it shows Africa will now be enjoying high availability for business critical data and solving low network latency, but how well will it benefits Nigeria’s technological space ?.

There should be a spill over of that into Nigeria. Considering that South Africans’ companies play in the Nigerian market, i expect an influx of IT infrastructure from these companies to power their operations. Though, local companies can take time before they catch up or be cut out of business due to obsolescence.
